What the Purchase Protection Benefit Covers

• Visa cardholders can benefit from the security offered by Visa Purchase Protection.
• If any product purchased in full with an eligible Visa card is damaged, stolen, or qualifiedly lost within the first 180 days of purchase, the cardholder may be eligible for the benefit.
• This protection covers repair expenses or compensates for the value of the damaged item, according to the terms and conditions.
• This purchase protection applies to items bought domestically or internationally, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Global coverage

The insurance is valid worldwide, except in Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, Iran, North Korea, and the Crimea region.

Extended original warranty

Covers up to the maximum indemnity limit all labor costs and replacement of parts necessary for the repair of the product purchased with the Visa Card, as long as it complies with the coverages of the original manufacturer’s warranty.

Coverage for gifts

Gifts are covered, provided they are paid in full with an Eligible Visa Card and meet the terms and conditions of the program.

What is not covered?

• Claims directly or indirectly from costs or expenses not incurred by the Visa Insured Person.
• Costs or expenses incurred before the Insured Person submits his/her claim in writing.
• Indirect or direct claims that were not reported within 90 days after the incident giving rise to the claim.
• Claims directly or indirectly from actions between members of the same family or household or actions to enforce a judgement or legally binding decision.
• Direct or indirect claims that are considered from the Insured Person’s lawyer’s report that the prospects of success in achieving a reasonable benefit are insufficient or where the cost of the action could be more than the settlement
• Injuries or damages resulting from your engagement in or practice of: manual work involving the use of dangerous equipment in connection with a profession business or trade, flying, the use of motorized two or three wheeled vehicles unless a full driving license issued in your country of residence is held permitting the use of such vehicles, professional entertaining, professional sports, racing (other than on foot), motor rallies and motor competitions, or any tests for speed or endurance.
• Any claim resulting from the Insured Person’s involvement in a fight.
• This benefit is in excess of any other insurance (related to Legal Protection) from which you can seek payment.
• Penalties or fines which a Court awards against you

Detailed coverages

• Civil liability. Covers expenses for material damages caused exclusively to the rented vehicle.
• Covered events. Includes vehicle rollover, collision with another object, collision as a result of theft or robbery of the rented vehicle, vandalism, accidental fire, and more.
• Theft or burglary of goods. Protection for items purchased with Visa and stored in the vehicle.
• Duration. Up to 31 consecutive days from the time you pick up the car.

Important exclusions

• Damage to third parties: Not covered. Consider adding SLI or ALI from the rental company.
• Uncovered motorized vehicles: Includes boats, motorboats, airplanes, motorcycles, bicycles, and similar.

Coverage requirements

• Pay with Visa: Make sure to reserve and pay for your full car rental with an eligible Visa card.
• Decline CDW/LDW: When renting the vehicle, decline the insurance offered by the rental agency.
• Secure purchases: Items purchased with Visa are also protected in the car.
• Authorized drivers: All drivers must be listed in the contract.
• Vehicles up to 10 passengers: Includes the driver.
• Global coverage: Enjoy protection on both domestic and international trips.
