FIRST QUARTER GROWTH FOR FIDELITY BANK

Fidelity Bank (Bahamas) Limited continued to experience growth in the first quarter of 2018, with its loans and advances portfolio growing by $5 million between the start of January and the end of March, leading to an increase in interest income of $1 million, 7 percent higher than the same period last year, according to the bank’s first quarter statement.

FIDELITY PARTNERS WITH COMMUNITY TO HELP LOCAL CHARITY

Fidelity Bank (Bahamas) Limited recently made a donation to The National L.E.A.D. (Leadership, Esteem, Ability, Discipline) Institute as part of its Charity of the Quarter initiative. This initiative began in 2015 where the bank highlights a new charity every quarter and encourages the community to donate to its work. Fidelity then matches the donations received $1 for $1 up to $10,000.

FIDELITY TARGETING 10% PROFITS RISE

FIDELITY Bank (Bahamas) is targeting 10 per cent profits growth for 2018, following a year in which the "cost of business" exceeded staff payroll and benefits. Gowon Bowe, the BISX-listed institution's chief financial officer, told Tribune Business that general and administrative (G&A) expenses exceeding workforce salaries was "not a ratio we like to see".
