Position Overview:

As a Central Services Associate, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the Bank’s financial operations. This position is responsible for the timely, accurate, and compliant execution of ACH and RTGS wire transfers, cheque clearances, and related transactions. You will help ensure operational integrity by managing reconciliations and upholding regulatory standards, while also serving as a trusted backup for key functions. In the absence of team members or the Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing continuity and support, ensuring seamless service delivery across the department.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction Processing Oversight:

  • Oversee the daily flow of ACH and RTGS wire transfers, cheque clearances, and collateral approvals, ensuring each is handled with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Keep financial operations moving seamlessly by reducing errors, managing risk, and consistently meeting targets.
  • Oversee approvals and execute transactions confidently within your delegated authority.
  • Serve as a designated backup for Central Services Assistants, supporting the processing of core functions to ensure seamless business continuity.

 

Reconciliation and Financial Accuracy:

  • Safeguard financial accuracy by performing reconciliations for cash and clearing accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies quickly to keep accounts balanced and accurate.
  • Review and approve journal entries before submission, ensuring they meet banking and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation documentation is maintained to support internal control and audit reviews.

 

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure strict adherence to the Bank’s internal policies, AML/KYC regulations, and established banking standards, maintaining a strong culture of compliance.
  • Oversee departmental activities to confirm alignment with risk protocols, escalating exceptions when necessary.
  • Proactively identify gaps in operations and recommend process improvements that strengthen efficiency while ensuring ongoing compliance.

 

Audit Coordination and Support:

  • Prepare the department for audits by keeping records well-organized and audit-ready.
  • Coordinate timely and accurate responses to internal and external audit requests.
  • Support the Central Services Supervisor in day-to-day operations and assist with special assignments.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in banking operations or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of wire transfers, clearing accounts, reconciliations, journal entries, and banking regulations.
  • Experience in AML/KYC compliance, risk management, and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in banking software and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong communication and organization management.
